Covid Isolation
So one of my roommates got covid and because of that we had to self isolate ourselves in our rooms because we found out a couple days after he came back without taking a covid test to see if he had it before coming back. With that being said it was just very difficult to process and go through because there was 4 of us and only one could come out at a time making it very hard for us since we loved to communicate and talk to each other while watching shows in the living room yet now we had to just lock ourselves in our rooms not being able to see each other until my roommate was cleared. It is just hard to adjust right away to being locked in a room for weeks on end and because of it many can really get depressed and just feel awful at times. I wanted to highlight this because of how much of an impact just getting this virus has because some don't believe how bad it is but by now everyone should have realized how bad this pandemic really is for others that have it way worse. -

Love in Covid 19
My roommate and I agreed because we felt that owning a puppy would help us cope with being confined at home, but then my buddy stated she would not return and hoped that we would adopt it immediately. After a year, my roommate unexpectedly informed me that he wanted to get a large dog. My roommate, by the way, is more scared of dogs than I am, but after a year of getting along, he has progressively become less afraid of dogs. So we went to the Pima Animal Center's kennel in search of a suitable dog, eventually settling on a Belgian Shepherd. Having these two dogs has brought both delight and stress to me and my housemates. -

Lumpia During COVID-19 Shutdown
This picture is when my roommates and I cooked lumpia in St. George, Utah, and classes were all moved online during the shutdown. We ended up with a lot of time on our hands during the shutdown, and we decided to cook and bake our favorite recipes, and lumpia was one of them. While COVID-19 changed our educational experience, it also changed our eating habits because we used to depend on ordering food a lot that we hardly used our shared kitchen in our dorm room together. This was one of my favorite memories with my roommates because, through food, we were able to spend more time preparing recipes, cooking them, and eating them together, unlike before. While COVID shut down everything, it gave us more time to bond together as roommates through food. -

Waiting in Limbo
Going into the weekend of the fourth of July; my roommates and I were notified of our exposure to covid-19. It came as a shock to us as for the most part we had been good at keeping away from situations that would expose us. After some deducing of how we were exposed we came to find out that one of our roommate’s girlfriend was our source. We decided to go and get tested in order to make sure we could participate in whatever fourth of July events we had scheduled. With the four of us packed into a car, we drove down to the nearest testing center. After waiting for what seemed like hours, we were able to get tests. What seemed like it would be a miserable experience of having something shoved up our noses turned out to be alright. A few days later we received calls informing us of our results. My test came back positive along with three of my roommates. However, hours later I was informed that my test was actually inconclusive and I should come get retested. So the next day I got up and drove myself over to the testing center. After waiting for an hour I was informed that I actually could not get tested for another 10 days due to my recent test. With this knowledge I had the pleasure of waiting out the week in quarantine, unsure of my exposure. The days went by long and slow stuck in a white room for 23 of the 24 hours in a day. My only real entertainment for the days being my PlayStation and my computer, and my only food being the simple groceries delivered to my house via amazon. Mostly peanut butter and jelly. After my 7 days were up I would drive to the nearest testing location to get tested. Except, that location was out of tests. I would spend the next 2 hours going to each location finding out the same thing, they were out of tests. The next 5 days would be spent doing much the same. Eventually, I would find a location and receive my test. After 2 more days I would find out my results: Negative. Having already spent more than my required quarantine time I would not know if I truly was positive in the early days. However, I don’t regret the time spent in self-quarantine in order to potentially protect others. -

A New Home
Despite all classes being online, I decided to come back to San Francisco for college after being home in Colorado for 5 months. I've moved apartments, and have a new roommate that I had never met before. So now there are four of us, living through a Pandemic together. We are doing quite well so far. We've made a calendar for chores, and a calendar that shows when each of us has classes so we aren't loud in other rooms while classes are occurring. Not only that, but we've become a family of sorts. We are almost always involved in each others' plans. We work out together, eat together, watch TV together and sometimes even cook together. It's a comfortable situation, and I'm grateful to be having this experience despite not being able to attend classes in person. -

Flatmates
I have spent the pandemic living with my 5 flatmates in our student accommodation. Some of us had lived at student accommodation before and were already acquainted with each other, whereas others were strangers at the beginning of the year. Over the last few months we have learned to live with each other amidst the uncertainty posed by the virus, organising cleaning rosters, discussing food, stressing over university assignments and rediscovering the beauty of The Lord of the Rings films. -
