Unconventional Joy on the Green
It was a bright, sunny, and cheerful day in Staten Island, NY, as three boys embarked on a mission. Their goal was to create an amazing YouTube video that would uplift people's spirits during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Frankie Cappello, Johnny Philp, and Christian Pineda, best friends for many years, shared the dream of becoming full-time content creators, entertaining millions worldwide. In this particular video, the boys headed to La Tourette Golf Course to film a prank-filled adventure, intending to bring smiles to others' faces. The first prank was orchestrated by Frankie, who pretended to swing a golf club (which was actually a selfie stick) and hilariously failed, exclaiming as he claimed to have fallen on his behind, surprising nearby golfers. For the second prank, Johnny and Christian approached a group of golfers, aiming for a "meaningful" conversation. Little did they know, the adult golfers decided to prank the boys by offering them a can of beer and jokingly asking if they were familiar with the popular song "WAP" by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. After successfully capturing these moments on film, Frankie's sister Ava took a snapshot that would later become the video's thumbnail and a cherished symbol of their friendship. Following a long night of editing by Johnny, the video was uploaded to YouTube the next day, forever preserving the memories and spreading joy among the boys and their supporters. -

My feelings on the Coronavirus Pandemic
• I am by Profession a Part-time Instructor of Creative Writing. I received my master’s degree in creative Writing from Concordia University. Right now, sine the Coronavirus crisis hit, I have been a full-time Stay-at-Home Mom with our two lovely daughters, Emily 8 and Lisa 10! They have been having the hardest time since the Coronavirus Situation hit our Country. Many times, Emily will say to me ‘Mommy, I’m scared, when will this crisis end? I’m Sorry, because I really don’t know what to say to her, at that age!! When I was a little girl, we didn’t have to face such a crisis! The closest thing we had was in 1961, to hide under our school desks, during siren drills! • Mentally, lately I have, personally been having frequent bouts of Severe Depression, whereby I feel like crying a lot, but my daughters and my husband, Dennis, kisses me, comforts me and tells me not to Worry!! • My Father-in-Law has recently been admitted to the hospital, after he began having severe stomach pains, after helping my Mother-In-Law to lift several boxes of heavy furniture! He was in the hospital for a series of Tests, after which it was discovered that he had damaged his Kidneys and 1-2 months of Intense Physical Therapy, combined with daily Anti-Biotics! A Group of Ladies that I belong to at my Church, have been commenting, “Boy Melissa, you simply don’t seem like your Cheerful, jolly, Loving self, are you sure you are alright?? Is there anything that We can do to help you and Dennis? • I typically work Outside-the-Home, but lately, because of our two daughters, I have chosen to work remotely from Home! But their smiles 😉 make it all worthwhile!! • My Husband and I are both, definitely practicing Social Distancing!! My girlfriends All Admire the ‘Courage-Of-My-Conviction!’ They tell Me Openly that they feel that I AM TRULY ONE OF THE BRAVEST WOMEN THAT THEY KNOW!! Although Dennis and I have to frequently visit his parents only via Skype! This is often-times distressing! • Because of this, We hardly-Ever, if Ever, Go Outside Our Home, so We have had to cancel Running of All Errands, and We absolutely do no Travelling and Outside trips, (Except the get-the-mail), and So we Obviously pursue All of Our Leisure, Social Activities, and all such Celebrations like Thanksgiving, and Christmas, on-line via Zoom! • Personally, I Definitely think that the Government could have done a lot more in the wake of this Covid-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC. Of course, I am relieved now that we are going to have a Wonderful New Administration in Washington, D.C.! I just hope to-GOD THAT THEY DO NOT “TAKE THEIR EYES OFF THE BALL!!” • As the Mother of two young girls, it pains me very much so just think about ‘what kind of future my daughters are going to have, if we fail once again to ‘Nip this crisis in the bud’? • Definitely, I am hopeful that as a World Community, we will all be coming much closer together!! This makes me smile too! -

Do You Know I'm Smiling?
I pride myself on being a friendly southerner, mainly while out shopping or eating at restaurants. I know retail and food service employees have very difficult jobs, so I always try to be friendly, understanding and tip well. One of the ways I’ve always tried to appear friendly is by smiling. But now with the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required pretty much everywhere. Essential workers are overworked, and now my face, covered with a mask from the nose down is hiding my smile. They cannot tell how friendly I appear; now I just have to try and say loudly(so they can understand me from behind the mask), that I don’t mind how long I had to wait, I understand they are busy, and it’s okay. I usually try to ease their concern with a nice smile. I never realized how much not being able to smile at people would impact me. I’ve never felt more pressure to “smile with my eyes” or “smize” as Tyra Banks would famously tell the models on the America’s Next Top Model television show. Life’s hard for smilers, no one can see our beautiful expressions with masks on. -

Let a Smile Be Your Calling Card
Hanging in the window of a home in a west Wichita neighborhood, this smiley-face flag remained a constant fixture throughout the state-ordered lockdown. Its owners removed it after May 4, when state officials began easing lockdown restrictions. -

COVID19 & Memes
This morning the first thing I saw on my social media pages was the announcement that ‘Asian giant hornets’ were spotted in the U.S. for the first time. On top of worrying about the COVID19 pandemic we now must worry about killer hornets. This year was supposed to be a new and great start for everyone but clearly 2020 is nobody’s year. A lot of people are trying to deal with all the stress of 2020 by making memes. I thought instead of having a negative entry for my post I would put together a couple of different memes that made me smile. -

Hello there
People's only exercise is often walking. People started putting signs in their front yards, to amuse, provoke a smile or just say hi. -
