LGBTQ people face higher unemployment amid coronavirus pandemic, survey finds
Surveys conducted by the Human Rights Campaign and PSB research demonstrate the vulnerability faced by the LGBTQ community during this crisis. LGBTQ people of color are disproportionately impacted by unemployment amid COVID-19. It's hard to process that these issues are present during an international crisis. At many times, it feels like the LGBTQ community is fighting a two front war. #ASU #HST580 -

Building A Student Organization During A Pandemic
I have always searched for ways to make clubs, activities, and events more accessible to online students. As the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted a lot of students into an online format, it also posed a unique opportunity to organize students, irrespective of their geography. LGBTQIA students face unique challenges and it's important that we are able to connect with our peers and community even as we must maintain social distancing. I created the LGBTQIA Sun Devils and Allies organization which is in the process of being registered as an official club with ASU. The idea is to connect students from all of ASU's campuses in a safe and inclusive environment that serves as peer and academic support. #ASU #HST580 -

At home salon
My family and I are taking this pandemic better every day. I live in a household of 3 women and we have been having hair troubles. The hair salons and nails shops were the last to close and we were regular clients in our local hair salon. Our safety and health come first, so I see the need for them to be closed. Since we no longer have access to them, we have formed our own little salon in our home to accommodate us and other women in our family. We have not only solved our hair problems but gave us bonding time with some of the rest of our family. I have realized that been though this is a rough time today in our world. This pandemic has given us more family time. -

Navigating COVID-19 and Chest-Binding
8 tips to look after your respiratory health for trans and non binary people who bind their chest .I am a member of a secret online group for transgender men. A member of the group from the US shared this resource, on how to look after your respiratory health for trans and non binary people who bind their chest. I realised that it was written by a member of the Australian trans community, someone I have connections with in my own city. It felt good to know that resources developed by someone in my own backyard are having a global reach and that the transgender community around the world are pulling together to support one another at this time. -

Coronavirus, Mikveh, and Taharat Hamishpacha
My partner shared an email with me from the Rabbi of a synagogue we're affiliated with, which addressed questions he'd received from congregants about how to deal with family purity laws under the current physical distancing restrictions. The email recommended reviewing the advice on this website, which provides guidelines for Jewish women performing ritual immersion at a mikveh (ritual bath) for the purposes of family purity, and for mikveh attendants, during the coronavirus outbreak. The advice was developed by Jewish women who are revered as experts in this aspect of religious law. -

Message from Rabbi Josh at Congregation Bet Haverim in Atlanta, Georgia
