COVID 19
It is January 2021 and Covid 19 has now infected almost 100 million people around the world. Although I have not experienced Covid first hand it still effects everyones day to day life, simple things like going to the grocery store or even school put us at risk. Covid 19 was difficult for everybody and my biggest struggle was making sure to keep in touch. I found it was easy with all the time at home to just hide in your bubble. Do online school, finish homework, go outside, watch some television and repeat. It started out like this but as time went on I realized the importance of getting out of routines and trying new things which significantly made my quarantine better. I facetimed friends, did zoom call secret Santa gift exchanges, walked the dogs, reached out to family. Although it was rough, This whole experience truly made me appreciate the small things and learn that going through times like these are really when everyone needs to come together and support one another. -

Covid Symptoms
Covid presents with tons of symptoms and although I haven't seen any of them first hand I have heard a story of my friend who had Covid when it first started and even though she is now negative, she still can't taste certain foods. It is different for everyone and some people are even A-symptomatic meaning they are carriers. My family members have had some Covid scares including my grandparents which was very scary considering its very dangerous for them to get it. One person happened to stop by their house who had Covid and didn't know it and nearly gave it to them. -

Covid Procedures
Covid-19 brought all sorts of new safety precautions and guidelines. The biggest one being masks. Everywhere you go masks are completely mandatory. Stores, restaurants and businesses. It is not ideal because the masks are uncomfortable and sometimes makes it hard to breath. Although they have made face shields and breathable masks to help. Keeping your hands clean is super important for keeping you safe during this time. Social distancing was the most difficult rule of all. Quarantine was difficult because people missed friends and extended family. Months and months of online school and work was hard for everyone but now we are slowly going back to that way things were. Overall, Covid has brought new perspectives on how to keep everyone healthy and safe during times like these. -

Covid 19 Virtual Learning
After months and months of online school I developed my daily routines. Roll out of bed, get ready and hop on the zoom call at 8. Take a break, make a snack and get back into class. Online school was difficult because everyday felt the same. Over and over days up in my room finishing assignments, watching a zoom, and talking to teachers. FaceTime and Zoom were the closest possible thing to interacting with friends which posed as a difficult obstacle for everyone. Although we were able to wake up later and not have to wear uniforms, I was never more upset about not going to school. It seemed like it was all bad but there were a few things that especially brought me joy like spending time with family, playing video games with friends, setting up zoom calls on holidays with relatives. It seemed as if the world had shut down for brief period of time. Businesses, airports, restaurants and even some grocery stores were closed. Here we are now slowly returning back to the new normal and adapting to a new way of life. Things were tough but overall I think we came out stronger together than before. -

Covid Christmas
Ever since I was little I have always done the same thing every Christmas. Although the pandemic was raging everywhere, my family had the opportunity to travel and see relatives in our favorite place on earth Wisconsin. We were seeing older relatives so it was crucial that we got tested for the virus before we left. After getting our negative results back we hopped on a plane and flew to Wisconsin. The airport was empty and everyone was heavily masked and distanced. It was a ghost town. Thankfully, we were able to see everyone and still be safe during these crazy times. -

Before Covid-19
In January of 2020, life was normal. No masks, no constant hand sanitizer and no social distancing. Everyone had regular schedules. Mine consisted of school, soccer and seeing friends on the weekends. It was not until I was on a family vacation that I found out about the virus. It didn't really sink in until the day our school announced a two week quarantine. I expected it to be a short two week break and then life would go back to our normal routines. As quarantine kept getting extended, I knew that Covid was not going anywhere for a while.
