  My Experience with someone who got COVID-19

  About a couple months ago, my friend who I had known for about 6 years tested positive for Covid-19. There was an outbreak in his school, and he got the virus from someone there. I'm pretty sure most of his family got tested, but only he had it. I wasn't seeing him anyway because of the lockdown, but I felt pretty scared for him. He had a heart condition and so did his dad, so he was more vulnerable than most. Luckily, he was asymptomatic and he wasn't suffering. His dad got pretty sick, but it wasn't COVID-19, he is ok now but he wasn't doing very well when he had it. Luckily, my friend was ok and did not have to go to the hospital.

  COVID-19 Names

  The COVID-19 pandemic has a lot of rules that we have to follow. One of them is to wear masks all the time. Some people whine about wearing them and how they don't work, but those people just look for excuses to complain. Masks help me stay safe and make me feel more comfortable around others. At my school, we also have to take temperature checks every day. My mother checks mine at home, and we have to go in again for school. It normally isn't a big hassle, but it gets annoying when you are just waiting for the people to get the instruments needed to check us. And the lady that helps with the temperature checks is pretty mean. Overall, its not that big of a deal though. We also have to stay six feet apart, but the benches at lunch are not that big, so we end up sitting pretty close. I should probably try to maintain my distance from people more. The rules that we have to follow for COVID-19 aren't that difficult, and you get used to them pretty quickly.

  My 2020 Online School Expierence

  Almost my whole 2020 was in online school. I would wake up later in the morning, have breakfast, brush my teeth, and start school from my room. It was much easier than in-person. I would be on Zoom most of the day, and stay on my computer after school to do homework. Most of my day is in my room. There were some benefits to this, however. I could go do something right after school instead of having to drive home and all that. It was easier because everything was on the computer. But I didn't like it too much because I didn't get to see my friends and I just like being in-person more. Overall, you get used to it after a while, but I still prefer in-person school. It wasn't really that bad, it just could be boring.

  Explain what you think the cause of the virus is.

  Many people believe the virus originated from a bat in Wuhan, China. I believe it came from an animal, that could be a bat, rat, etc. After the animal transmitted its sickness to a human, the virus did the work from there. It kept on spreading throughout the Earth. It is likely that it came from a bat, as that is what scientist's best guess was, but nobody knows exactly how it happens. Bats are known for spreading new diseases around, and are very unsanitary.

  Christmas 2020

  The Christmas of 2020 was not too different from past years for me. On Christmas Day, my family opens presents and eats meals together, we did that again this year with little change. Christmas Eve, however, changed a lot. Normally, my family and friends would gather at my Grandmother's house to eat and talk. But, we could not do that in 2020. Instead, we only saw my Grandmother. Overall, Christmas didn't change much, the only thing different was the lack of people.

  Thanksgiving 2020

  The Thanksgiving that I had in 2020 was in some ways different, and some ways the same. I would normally go to my Grandparents house, and they would invite family and friends over too. But this year, only my family was invited. My grandfather had also passed away in October, so only my grandmother was there. The food was the same, but the company was very different. It felt more lonely this year, because of the lockdown. My Thanksgiving was different in some ways, but familiar in other ways. Overall, it was a fine experience, but obviously not as good as previous years.
