  When I embarked on the journey that was the JOTPY internship, I was unsure of what it would entail. I knew there would be assignments centered around collecting information in regards to COVID-19, but I did not know the extent. I was very surprised to learnt that we would be in fact completing our own oral histories. At the beginning, it was easier to contribute items to the archive, and extremely fun. But, as the work got more in depth, things got tougher. I had dabbled in oral history before, but had only done it to the extent of transcribing myself. By being introduce to Otter AI, my job got a lot easier. However, I'm still not a fan of oral history transcription. This course/internship taught me a plethora of skills. These included working with a team, curating fro an archive, software skills and more which I hope to incorporate in my future classes and career. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the course and look froward to seeing it come full circle.

  Spread Love Not Germs

  This is a photo I took at a wedding I directed this weekend. The bride had me place a bag on each individual chair. The bags contained mask and hand sanitizers. The little tags read "Spread Love Not Germs". This has been a popular response to the pandemic.

  Wedding Options

  This is an email I had to send to a bride who was upset over COVID-19 ruining her wedding plans. These options were developed after deciding what was doable under mandates at the time. The bride ended up moving her wedding to 2021 and had an intimate ceremony in her home.

  Stephanie Oral History, 2020/07/17

  Stephanie [REDACTED] lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and works part time for the Hershey Chocolate Company. She lives with both her mother and brother. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stephanie requested to work from home due to underlying health reasons. Stephanie is not working from home but is struggling with the set up. Stephanie is also craving a sense of community during these stressful times, especially since Pennsylvania isn’t friendly to those not from the area. Stephanie and her family have taken the proper precautions to stay safe and are only leaving the house when absolutely necessary.

  A Few Good People

  This is a photograph of a lay out for a bride getting married on July 4, 2020. She began her wedding process with approximately 250 guest and a wedding party of 6 not counting herself and the groom. She is now down to 50 guest, and a wedding party of 3, not counting herself or the groom. She had us move the chairs to a circular pattern around her rather than looking into a void of empty space by leaving them in an aisle. This is a representation of how much COVID-19 has altered plans made by individuals and the thought process that must be applied to rectify them and have some semblance of happiness.

  But What About Social Distancing?

  This is a photograph of the past weekend from my bridal shower. Everyone who came was more than willing to utilize hand sanitizer and brought mask if it made them feel comfortable. However, we did break the social distancing rule in order to snag a group picture. It was so nice to break out of the quarantine mind set and enjoy a day with friends celebrating my upcoming wedding!

  Local Business Defeat

  This is a picture of our venues calendar in May. All of the white out spots that you see are dates which couples either chose to cancel/postpone their wedding, or our venue staff was forced under mandates to tell them they had to reschedule. It has been a very messy battle that included two law suits and endless disappointment on our venue's end and especially on the couples end. COVID-19 is robbing people of their mile stones and we are so ready for it all to be over. This is also a good example of how detrimental COVID-19 has been on small businesses. The amount of money they have lost makes it extremely hard to stay afloat.

  Social Distancing

  This is a photo that a good friend of mine, Katie DiPietro took during a family session where she was required to stay 6ft away and give ten min session breaks for clean up. She called this pose the "social distancing pose"...as you can see my family thought it was very funny. This session was brilliant because for a short moment, we forgot all about the virus. The fear and worry went away and for half an hour, we could enjoy extra time as a family.

  Online Shopping

  This is a screen shot of my etsy order page. As you can see, due to COVID-19...it is all reusable mask. These mask were bought to protect my asthmatic brother, my father with limited lung capacity (bad car accident), my grandmother with breathing issues, my fiance who works in law enforcement, and for general use by my mother and I. These are worn by us for particular stores, to work, and to doctors offices. I've spent over $100 on reusable mask in a month.

  Soap

  These soaps will serve as favors for my upcoming bridal shower. I wanted to give something that was useful, rather than something that would be thrown away as soon as they left. What could be more needed currently during a pandemic than soap? This birthed the idea to make individual soaps to give to all the attendees to take home and use after being out with people all day.

  Work Score

  This was important to share the type of things American's are shopping for when we go into the stores. This cleaner has been approved by the CDC to kill COVID-19 and was something I was overly excited to buy for my office. I may have paid more for it than any cleaner in my 23 years, but worth it.

This is a photo of the aftermath from a breakdown after being frustrated from working full time, having a ton of school work to do, and not being able to leave the house other than to grocery shop. I don't tend to catch dramatics, but I felt that this caught a real moment.

  Shower is Still On

  At Home Graduation
