Thoughts on COVID
As we reach the 10th month of the pandemic, it's important to know where we are at. The statsics of COVID right now, for the USA, are a total of 25.3 million cases and 421 thousand deaths. It might not seem like much compared to the population, but it sure is. I haven't had any close friends or family that have contracted COVID, but it seems that the effect it has is different for everyone. My final thoughts on COVID has both made us learn many things and at the same time, it has it's bad things. We've learned and had a bunch of experiences thoughout these 10 months, and I soon hope that this all would be over. Whenever I think about all the precautions and stuff we do during COVID sometimes makes me laugh. Not that any of this is funny, but we aren't used to this, and it feels like we are too careful. -

Symptoms of COVID-19
As you've probably already heard, many people have caught COVID. I don't know anyone in my family that has caught it, but I do have a family friend that caught it. I know that sympotoms and how the virus attacks your immune system can differ, but in this case it wasn't too bad. Some of the symptoms my friend is experiencing are tiredness, fatigue, fever, runny nose, and pain all over the body. Again, I've heard of others going to the hospital because they weren't able to breath. This friend, caught is a few days ago, so he is isolated in his home and sadly the rest of his family has caught it. As of now, they are doing fine and hope to have a swift recovery. -

Procedures Of COVID
When the pandemic started, it was very different from normal times. We had to start waiting outside markets to go in because we had to have a certain amount of people in there. I usually go to markets such as Gelsons, Trader Joe's, Ralph's, and Vons, which all had lines. We always had to wear masks wherever we went, expect at home, exercising and while driving. At the beginning of the pandemic, we wore gloves used a bunch of sanitizer or rubbing alcohol and we still do. If we want to hang out with friends or anyone outside our household, we have to be outside and 6 feet apart, which is kind of a bummer. My feelings of all of this, 9 months in, is that I think that these precautions are necessary for us to be safe, but can be annoying some of the time. I think that restrictions have eased now despite the rise in cases. -

Learning Virtually
Have you ever done online learning? Well there is good and bad things about it. During when COVID first hit we were transitioned to online learning, it was a little hectic at first trying to figure everything out, but it wasn't the same. As of now we have done about 9 months of online learning. Some bad things are not being able to communicate with teachers or friends, turning in assignments, and even the learning itself. The first semester I was at a public school and we couldn't do much of online learning so we had very few assignments. Then in the fall of 2020, I moved to a private school where it was much better, but there was still some flaws. Some good things about online learning are if you finish class early you can take breaks, I don't have a problem with this but a lot of people do, you don't have to wake up as early when you are virtual, and finally you can get started on chores around the house if you have free time or relax. Overall, I thought it would be worse, but it wasn't too bad. -

Origin of Covid
As you've probably heard, Covid is sweeping through the whole world. As of right now, no one really knows how it started. I've heard that it's started from a bat, someone ate a bat in China and that's how it started. That's the first reason I heard, the second was that labratories might have created a virus, this virus. At the time, I only heard about the bat, so that's what I believed. I think that my opinions have changed, but I don't nessciarly agree with both, it could've been other things. Many people have been trying to figure out the exact answer. At this point, I do believe that someone does know, but most of the population doesn't. In the future, I predict that, hopefully, we will find out. -

Christmas with Covid
During Christmas, my family usually travels to any state in the USA. We don't usually have any state in particular, we just chose. Instead this year, we purchased a toy hauler and went out to the desert. The exact location was Armistead, California. It wasn't crowded where we stayed. My family was nervous, it was out first time staying in a toy hauler. We had perviously been to Armistead because we have dirt bikes and a dune buggy we ride, but this was different. In the end I really enjoyed it, it was a different, but yet very informative trip. We learned the value of everything we take for granted as well as learned new things, such as making a campfire. Overall, I really loved this new expirence, I would highly reccomend it.
