Farewell!
My work ends here on 5/15/2021, I have curated on this website for 2 semesters at ASU and have read sad stories, funny stories, stories that are strange, and people who seem so lost, It was a nice refresher to see how people reacted to pandemic a lot more than my old job which was captioning hard of hearing people's phone calls. I heard so much more death and depressing tales there than in this archive which I find interesting but I have seen many sides of the pandemic. I did have to caption, not once but twice, old people having phone sex from that job and here have read hundred of children ponder the origin of the COVID-19 virus. It is strange but I have seen and lived many lives this pandemic thanks to my jobs. -

Prince Phillip just Died
Prince Phillip died after many jokes of him dying due to his last hospital visit at the drop of a hat. Well today, as of 4/9/2021, he has been pronounced dead, and my favorite thing about it all is how people are just now realizing that he and Queen Elizabeth were related, I thought it was more known but in hindsight, I guess that being more public would not be a very good image for the Royal Family. As someone who disagrees with the concept of the Royal Family probably knows too much about their transgressions and issues than the average person. -

Intel creates an Automatic Censoring System
Intel creates a new program called Bleep to help more people feel comfortable in the online gaming community, the only issue is that the program looks ridiculous. With toggleable n-word and a scale of misogyny you can choose from, it seems more like a right-wing pundit piece on how censoring will end up, as much as tackling the issue of hate on the online gaming community is it is just baffling how hilarious the interface is. -

I love this band and one of their albums is known as April Fools so this meme is just about it and the day (April Fools) -

New Friend
A weird sort of horror video I found on Twitter which I found weirdly relevant. It is definitely worth the experience. -

First Vaccine Jab
My arm hurt but I have received the jab, the initial injection was painless but the site of injection is mildly sore and it is hard to type or focus on other things. I want to get good rest and relax but sadly I still have obligations I must complete despite the discomfort. -

Sugar
Calorimetry is my least favorite part of chemistry but it usually can have very interesting applications in regard to shower thoughts, which I get a lot since I am sitting at home just thinking in my thoughts day by day. One day I was thinking about whether or not sugar was more powerful than C4 due to a MinuteEarth video saying sugar had a higher J/kg ratio than TNT so I looked into it. I found an online source saying it was 3 * 10^6 joules per pound released in an explosion. So what I did next looked at the caloric content of 1 gram of sugar: 4 calories, which in scientific terms is 4 kilocalories (our colloquial use of calorie is actually 1 kilocalorie) and then 4 kCal was translated into joules which is about 16736 joules per one gram. 453.9 grams of sugar are in one pound of sugar so then I multiplied 453.9 grams by 16736 J/g to get the number of joules stored in one pound of sugar. It equals 7.59128224 *10^6, more than double, almost triple the energy of the same amount of C4 that could be released by sugar if in the right scenario. I was not surprised at the number but I wanted to see some real-life examples of how sugar, in the right scenarios, could possibly unleash it's hellish powers. The attached photo is from a 2008 sugar factory explosion in Georgia, the sugar was suspended in small particles throughout the air which is the prime capability for explosions, and boy does it look strong. 14 people died and 36 were injured in that incident. Just something to think about the next time you are baking. -

Olivine and their Art
Sometimes all we have to do in times of stillness is to create, and with some people lucky enough to be granted with a few extra bits of time they create, whether for projects for an art class or for personal reasons, humanity will always be able to communicate complex ideas through the ideography we all know that is art. Olivine is a friend of mine and I wish to share art from all walks of life to this archive to share the story of individual artists and how they speak to us through their art. Whether it be emotion or just an idea for a story, it will always translate between languages and cultures. -

Nostalgia in the Pandemic
For those who have been on the Internet for longer which is the norm, many will remember what memes were in their early days. This Twitter has been working on showing them off to cause both nostalgia and a tinge of nausea from things that have been sleeping deep in the back of some people's mine, including my own. -

You are still part of the process
An internet animator posted this art and I resonated with it quite a bit. The colors are nice and reminds me of the current thought process of this whole pandemic. -

Frontier Psychiatrist ReAnimated
70 animators came together to reanimate a strange music video known as Frontier Psychiatrist by the Avalanches. Common in the artist community for things like music videos, reanimation projects are great labors of love. I cannot explain how well this was put together and done. -

Weihnachten steht vor der Tür
In Germany and many other countries apparently, there is a Santa alternative known as the Christkind or Christkindlr, thought it was interesting to think about this upcoming pandemic holiday season. Translation, Literal: [ Fuck the ChristmasMan, with all my home-is comes the Christ Child ] Translation, Nonliteral: [ Fuck Santa, all my homies are with the Christkind ] -

Beetle Husbandry
In this pandemic, there has been no shortage of people sharing stories of being in quarantine with their pets and companions, however too saturated are stories of cats and kittens, dogs and puppies, and all those other lovely mammalian companions. Invertebrates truly are unique to raise and care for and this pet owner has their beetle perusing the pages of a Japanese-English encyclopedia on itself. -

The once mildly disliked man is now disputed moreso as a general failure when it came to Red for Ed and the COVID-19 cases in Arizona. -
