Pizza and Toliet Paper
A local pizza place called Rosatis Pizza has begun to give out a free roll of toliet paper for every order. When my family ordered dinner from there we had no idea they were doing this. It is weird to think about how just a few months ago if a pizza place gave out a roll of toliet paper it would have been very strange, but now in the current environment created by the pandemic it is a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. It shows how values have changed during the pandemic and the importance of still trying to support local businesses as best as we can, and in return the businesses are doing what they can to show their appreciate for consumer support during the pandemic. -

Enjoying Spring at the Park
This image was taken by me on one if my walks around a local park. I have been going to this park since I was three years old. Ever since the stay-at-home order was give for NC at the end of March I have noticed a much greater diversity in the demographics of people who visit the park.Traditionally the park would be populated by younger children, around elementary and middle school aged, along with young parents and their children. Now people of all types and ages frequent the park in an attempt to help normalize and adjust the the changes caused by the pandemic. Something I never expected to enjoy while going to the park is being able to see so many different people playing happily and making the best of the situation. Seeing others adjusting to the pandemic, in a way helps me accept the normalization of the changing social dynamics that have been created. -

Limiting the Line
Hmart is an asian market that carries a variety of food items popular in many different asian countries. It is one of my favorite grocery stores to shop at. It was also the first grocery store I have been to doing the pandemic that has i.plemented careful procedures for guest whose entering the store. First, the workers outside are keeping close count of how many people are in the store by monitoring the entrance and exit. They are also sanitizing all shopping baskets and carts at the entrance so guest don't have to touch them until after watching then be sanitized, and finally the store is giving plastic gloves to consumers who enter the store and do not have a pair. I also noticed while doing my grocery shopping that every single person in the store had some form of face mask on them, including employees. I know as time goes on more stores will implement similar policies, for now it seems like Hmart is adjusting well to the pandemic and taking the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe. Seeing this just confirmed why Hmart will continue to be my go to store for supplies during the outbreak. -

Food for First Responders- McDonalds
I had go to McDonalds to pick up breakfast when I noticed they had this sign in the drive thru. My Aunt is a nurse working in the Covid-19 unit at a local hospital. I took the picture of the sign to send to her. She was excited to see that they had such an offer. She was also suprised because she did not know that was something McDonalds was doing. She shared the information with her coworkers, whom most did also not know about that. I think it is important to share these kinds of offers for first responder. It's great that McDonalds is giving out free complete meals to the first responders, but it should be something that is more well known about. I am not sure if this is a local offer or a national one, but regardless The people who the offer is being made for should be made aware. I hope to see as time progresses more bigger chains that can afford programs like that to join and help us support all of the hard working first responders. -

Social Distancing and 90 Day Fiance
The quarentine has opened up the time for myself and my parents to binge watch the show 90 Day Fiance together. It has been a good way for us to get together, not get on each others nerves, and to take our minds off of the pandemic for a little bit. Recently the show has started a new small series where they have cast members vlog from home and discuss their experiences and how their lives have changed with the virus. It was interesting to so this kind of programming on cable. These days have been blurring together for a lot of us in my household, but having shows that post weekly helps orient myself to the day of week that it is. -

Local Sign Business is Thriving
Most local businesses in my town are struggling to deal with the changes caused by Covid 19, one local Sign shop has been busy creating signs for the town that inform people about the importance of staying six feet apart and what that distance is equal too. They also have been tasked with creating other covid19 related signs to express when locations are closed of for the time being and helping bring awareness to the the situation. -

6 Feet Apart
The sign was posted at a public park and nature area that has continued to stay open throughout the pandemic. The park does get a lot of foot traffic and the sign is there to help people of all age groups help contextualize how far away they should be staying from people while visiting the park.
