Trump team failed to follow NSC’s pandemic playbook
“The NSC devised the guide — officially called the Playbook for Early Response to High-Consequence Emerging Infectious Disease Threats and Biological Incidents, but known colloquially as “the pandemic playbook” — across 2016. The project was driven by career civil servants as well as political appointees, aware that global leaders had initially fumbled their response to the 2014-2015 spread of Ebola and wanting to be sure that the next response to an epidemic was better handled.” -

A pint of me
Because of the pandemic, the Red Cross has had to cancel thousands of blood drives and hospitals are experiencing a shortage. Although the thought of leaving the house right now makes me anxious, I wanted to do what I could to assist others in some way. The Red Cross has amped up its protective measures: temperature checks at the door, hand sanitizer at every step of the process, and even wrapping the stress balls in gloves. I'm worried about getting sick and hope to do my part to stop the spread of Covid-19 by staying home, but this is one thing I can do outside my house to protect others. -

Another Empty Campus: Hobart and William Smith Colleges
This is just another example, on a smaller scale, of how the virus is affecting daily life. Schools cancelled, restaurants closed, small businesses around the country being shut down. Much of our infrastructure relies on these students being on campus and without it a lot of people are losing money and jobs. -

Noisy neighbours
We were out for a walk and heard a housebound resident in a local apartment banging out on the drums — more people confined to home might suggest taking up a quieter musical instrument! Neighbourly protocols might be tested. -

Our family home schooling schedule.
My son's school closed on Monday. He is a high energy kid and copes better when he knows what the day holds. So I devised a schedule for us where he can continue to learn whilst school is closed. We are finding that having a schedule is really helping with our daily life. It is meant to be flexible and serves more of a touchstone for when things get difficult throughout the day. Many people are saying that time in isolation is a great opportunity to learn an instrument or language, master a hobby or really relax - but those of us with children don't have that luxury.
