The Three Equations for a Happy Life, Even During a Pandemic
This article by Brooks says, how during the coronavirus is great time to make arts and crafts. In time religion have always encouraged the pursuit of happiness and well being along with science books. Brooks tells that in three equations is a formula to help oneself to contrast their life into an art form. Then magnify what we draw from the activity to help us see and think from a subjective view. This activity worth thinking about during the bad times we are all going through (Brooks,2020). -

During coronavirus crisis, Congress’s first caucus for nonreligious belief seeks a larger role in promoting science
"The nation is growing increasingly nonreligious. Last year, the Pew Research Center reported that 26 percent of Americans now say they are not affiliated with any religious tradition, compared with 17 percent in 2009. Many of those unaffiliated Americans still believe in God and incorporate spiritual practices into their lives. But the share of atheists has doubled, from 2 percent of Americans in 2009 to 4 percent in 2019. An additional 5 percent now call themselves agnostics, compared with 3 percent a decade earlier." -

Some churches confront virus restrictions on Easter services
This article is about churches in Georgia, Texas, and New Mexico having to adapt the upcoming Easter services through livestreaming options. However, in some states Governors have determined that church is an “essential” service which would allow Easter services to go on. These churches would use social distancing in order to worship and to avoid the spread of the virus. Moreover, some smaller churches plan to carry services how they normally would without practicing social distancing. -

Celebrate Holy Week and Easter With Us On-line
As Easter Sunday approaches, President Trump’s prediction about crowds of people returning to mass is proving unrealistic. Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville, IL is one example of many Catholic Churches offering online mass as a substitute for in-person services. While religious services have been streamed before, and “Church TV” has existed for a long time, never have Church services across the world had to be cancelled to such a large degree and replaced by online streaming.#DePaulHST391 -

Green Lights of Kentucky #10
(Pictured: Barn and cow, North Madison County, KY) On March 21, 2020, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear asked Kentuckians to show green lights each night a COVID-19 fatality is reported — a show of solidarity and resilience that unites the Commonwealth. “Every night that I have to report a fatality, it’s a small thing, but we’re going to light the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion green. Green is the color of compassion, it’s the color of empathy. It’s also a color of renewal. According to my faith, when you pass from this world, your body is just a vessel and your soul moves to an ever better and more special place.” -

Trubisky Jab
Due to the recent ban of dine-in restaurants in Chicago, this clever restaurant owner took a humorous approach to social distancing through the Covid-19 pandemic. The underwhelming 2019-20 Chicago Bears season, fresh in the minds of many Chicagoans, became the focal point of this restaurant’s attempt to promote social distancing. Third-year Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky held one of the worst QBR’s in the 2019-20 season, making himself the target of much slander and in this case, a pandemic-themed joke. In these unprecedented times, a little comedic relief can be greatly appreciated. #DePaulHST391 -

Toilet Paper Panic at The Local Food Lion
As the COVID-19 spreads across the world, and the country is in a state of emergency, toilet paper is seemingly wiped off the face of the Earth. Acting out of panic, people rush to grocery stores to buy TP before it’s too late. Those who make it there in time are relieved to find a few remaining rolls of TP. Those who do not are s*** out of luck, and probably should have gone earlier. Now, friends and family have a duty to each other if they ever want to put this behind us. All joking aside, this event has caused a major shortage of TP across at least the United States. #DePaulHST391 -

With other forms of media people have found ways to conduct prayers and express their feelings. They speak about not being able to respond to Covid-19 through religion, but their teachings tell them to take action and not affect others. Those who have their faith should raise awareness but still engage in religious practices. -

The Challenge of Social Distancing in Hasidic Communities
Frimet Goldberger writes about the effects COVID-19 is having on the Hasidic community in New York City, and also points out how their traditions and lifestyle are contributing to the exacerbated effects of the virus within their community. Household numbers considerably larger than the average American household, a deeply communal lifestyle, a lack of access to the news, and distrust in secular authorities and science are all contributing to the intensified effects that COVID-19 is having on the Hasidic community. Instead of blaming Hasidic Jews as a whole, Goldberger points a finger at rabbis that are in the position to warn their community about the threat of the virus and encourage social distancing protocol but choose not to. -

Kimberley Bulletin: Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Responses
A regular Covid-19 bulletin issued to local indigenous community members and health providers describing hygiene practices, local travel and safe distancing restrictions, background information on covid-19 and available social support using terminology and cultural examples specific to the region. For example, a 'sorry camp' is special area where visiting relatives would stay when attending a funeral in a community, as communities can be extremely far apart. These are subject to the country-wide limit of a maximum 10 people at funerals current at the time of publication. Remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander communities are considered to be at higher risk of severe impacts from Covid-19 than the wider population due to their higher level of chronic health issues, frequently crowded households, and long distance from healthcare. The Kimberley region of Western Australia has unique travel restrictions in place to limit movement between the four Shires, in addition to restrictions on movement across different regions of Western Australia and lockdowns of individual indigenous communities. -

The Library is Closed Today
This photograph was taken of a Libertyville, IL, public library, which is closed due to the pandemic. Across America, non-essential services such as libraries have had to shut down. The nature of the sign reflects the uncertainty of this quarantine period. By simply reading "The Library is Closed Today," this sign says little about how long it will be closed, instead directing patrons to the library website where information can be updated as circumstances change and new information is made available. #DePaulHST391 -
