Beartooth Pass
In late July 2020, my wife (then girlfriend), my family, and I took a trip to Sturgis, South Dakota for the annual Black Hills motorcycle rally. During the trip, we traveled to Red Lodge, Montana, where we spent two days riding our motorcycles into Yellowstone National Park. Of all the memories we made on that trip, driving on Beartooth Pass, one of the most dangerous roads in the United States, was my favorite. The views were stunning and the ride was exciting, with near-vertical dropoffs and few guardrails. In South Dakota, the only COVID-19 restriction in effect was mask mandates inside restaurants and stores; in Montana, there were no restrictions. -

3D Printed, P100 Mask for COVID Nurses
This is a video my sister sent me of her first day with the P100 mask. It is a 3D printed mask that a department at her hospital have been making themselves because of the shortage of PPE. Every nurse gets one of these and the filters on them are replaceable (roughly 3 months before replacement filters are needed). They are very tight so nurses apply gel stickers around the seal to prevent bruising. They are so new to the unit that some nurses and techs have been getting bad dermatitis on their skin, so their is still some improvements to be made but because of the severity of the situation comfort is overlooked. -

Entry #072820
I have been feeling a lot of things right now. The indifferent, numb self battered by how people are not prioritizing life over this health crisis has experienced some form of reawakening. And I've poured my raw thoughts over today's journal entry. a day fresh of the recent SONA, a day away from getting back to the hospital frontlines. I want the crisis to end soon. but I cannot do it alone. we should not do it alone -

Ottawa's restaurants give each other 'a big community hug'
"But with such a small space, taking out a few tables to adhere to physical distancing rules wasn't feasible. And its Somerset Street West location doesn't afford it much space for a patio. "But this Thursday, Corner Peach will be once again dishing up its pre-COVID menu — at a different restaurant. Arlo Restaurant and Wine, itself brand-new to Ottawa's restaurant scene, has offered up its spacious patio to Corner Peach, one of a number of examples of restaurateurs in this city lending each other a helping hand."
