Class Sticker
Recently my sister graduated from Practitioner school but unfortunately wasn't able to have a traditional graduation. I still wanted to celebrate the best way I could because this was a huge accomplishment, so I searched the internet for funny little things to get her and I found this perfect sticker. She loves Friends and it worked perfectly for the situation we are in. It also led me down a rabbit hole of other satirical products related to the pandemic that I thought was super funny. I'm happy that people are able to make the best of this weird time. -

First Day of Elementary School
After being home for so many months my granddaughter was excited about going back to school to see her friends and teachers. I was happy for her but also as her grandmother I was concerned/anxious about her being exposed to COVID0-19. While I was happy for her it made me sad because I feel like this is going to be the new norm for children who choose to attend in-person schooling versus online schooling. (This was an option we had in our school system.) But this picture also goes to show that even though we are facing a health crisis, we are still adapting and overcoming, and trying to make life as normal as possible for our children. -

California Could Cut Its Prison Population by 50,000 People
A news article discussing the potential release of thousands of prisoners to help relieve overcrowding during the COVID-19 pandemic. Large amounts of prisoners have been released in the past with no detriment to public safety. In a time when people are dying as a result of this overcrowding during a pandemic it would be incredibly beneficial to release these people. According to data, the issue seems to be one of political risk rather than of public safety. -

Beneath the Mask
Would you believe me if I told you this piece of cloth and string caused protests across the country? Honestly, nothing about this entire pandemic resonates with me as hard as the mask debate. The fact that people had the issues with wearing protective gear when necessary terrifies me. I understand why people might not be willing to wear a mask, but I also understand why someone would want to swim in shark-infested waters. Does not mean I want to join in with them. It’s just crazy to me that something as simple as this caused such a huge debate.
