The original first record of the curtain was 02/14/2020, it was actually valentines day. It is a story that I have personally followed up with. I accidentally saw one of the videos when the mystery was not solved, then decided to follow up. The very first video uploaded in the collection was only a short video of a random Wuhan man taking a video of one neighbor's curtain crazily flying outside the opened window. The curtain flew for days and there is no one in the house because it was never held well as how other curtains should be inside the window. For days and weeks, millions and millions of people in DouYin and the real-world worried about the family that should be living in that apartment. They wish and hope they are safe and healthy and prayed for them. Luckily after months, the owner came back safe and sound with his family. They were stuck in another city and could not come back. The Wuhan museum then decided to collect this set of curtains for the memory of fighting this pandemic, that videos of the only small flying curtain made millions and billions of people worried and prayed together for the family. It is important because it's a special memory for all to think about and pray for a set of curtains and the family that owned them. it was worrying but memorable, it draws the whole country's attention with a lonely curtain. It recorded how this pandemic affects people's real life, social media, as well as hearts worrying for families all over the world.

I was the very first few weeks after the lockdown. At that time, most of the groceries are sold out at the local grocery stores (Albertsons, Ralphs). No meat, milk, even toilet paper can be found on the shelves. Costco became the only store where food supply is sufficient. My roommate and I went to Costco to stock up some food. The store opened at 10 am and when we got there, the line was all the way to the end of the road (~50 meters). People were following the social distancing and 1/3 of them were wearing masks

This is the first time I went out for a walk with my boyfriend so early to watch the sunrise although we didn't see the sun on that cloud day. It was fun to take off my mask on the street without people to breathe in the fresh air during this hard time. During this Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve learnt that some people might be more vulnerable than others. Who is high risk? I am! A quick google search shows that a person taking high doses of steroids or immunosuppressant medication can be considered as clinically extremely vulnerable. I take both. The fear is real. It has always been here but now I need to be even more careful. The lines are blurred; how ill do I need to feel before deciding that I need to go to the hospital, an incubator for all kinds of infections and an even more potential risk in catching the deadly virus? As much as the hospital is the solution, it might as well be death welcoming me with arms open.
The number of infected persons has rocketing at a time, and I could not help falling sick despite not having gone out a single time during the 3-month lockdown. It was finally time to go there, the hospital! I went armed to the teeth with my mask, gloves, and a sanitiser, cautious but still anxious, and I was met with an eerily almost empty building. The place which was usually buzzing with activity at all times of the day only had a handful of doctors and nurses but no patients! It seemed like everyone had respected the lockdown measures to the letter. I was relieved and I was cared for with the staff following all precautionary measures. In a measure of solidarity, the people had decided to respect the lockdown rules to avoid the spread of the virus and had in unthinkingly doing so, potentially saved the health of many vulnerable patients. I felt safe and I still do. Caring for others is after all a social responsibility and an expression of what it means to be human and humane.

He was struck suddenly by the massage, a life changing massage which indeed deconstructs his unwanted college life but also his entire plan of how to waste it. The massage is, with years process, the approval of major change request, which he actually had expected a deny because of his junior status. Since it happened, he suddenly lost his plan about next school year and the summer vacation between. As an international student, he was planing a summer school which becomes unnecessary now, and he is not sure how to do exactly. The thing is almost all of his friends returned home either by airplane or automobile and he really has nothing to do in such pandemic. "I guess I should go home." he tells himself repeatedly and finally buys an airline ticket without clue if it would be canceled which is frequent in pandemic. Now all he can do is waiting, waiting for the eradication of last COVID-19 virus, waiting for the lovely first class next year, waiting for the familiar room home next month, waiting for the ticket confirmation next week, waiting for the confidence in final next time, waiting for the salute of professor next lecture, waiting for the oil boiling next meal, and waiting for the sunshine next morning. He is doubting if life must be passive, and suddenly wind strikes curtain; he choose to shut the window, and the street lamps outside are still on.
