On March 05, Wuhan University Renmin Hospital, an 87-year-old COVID-19 patient saw the sunset with a young doctor. This is a funny way to cope with the Covid-19. People have created many memes that can alleviate the daily stress that the pandemic can cause. It is a list of "destinations" of this year's travels. These destinations are the names of the rooms of a house, and they have been changed into a more "hispanic tone" to make them sound like cities where to travel.

The uploaded picture is African Americans waiting in line for distributions of food and mask in New York. It is just one of the many pictures and art forms describing the disproportions effects of COVID-19 on communities of color. It has been stated that people of color are becoming infected and dying of COVID-19 at high rates than those that are white. It is important to be made aware of this as it could be the result of systematic racism that is embedded in the access to healthcare and resources as well as the living conditions compared to white folks.

When I have heard covid 19 is coming and will be spread in the world, I tried my best to hoard supplies, including toilet papers, foods, seasonings and some daily necessities. When I saw the news from website in America, I think it must be joke that president Trump's sayings. From the local news of China, i have deeply understood the urgency and destruction of covid 19. I tried my best to talk to my friends and prepared to face the challenge of covid 19. Afterwards, I shared some stories of Wuhan and told them how to protect themselves. I really admired the spirits of medical staffs and their ambitions to fight against virus. That power gave me a strong movement to live well and protect myself. During Covid-19, everyone is so stressed. Many people lost their jobs. It is a really frustrating time for many people. A more exasperating thing happened. A black man George Floyd died in Minneapolis, Minnesota because of excessive police enforcement. A white police officer had his knee on George's neck for over 10 minutes even if George completely followed his instructions and didn't do anything to resist. Everyone was very angry because of this unfair treatment. The protesters started a peaceful march in some cities. However, the conflict between the police and protestor becomes more serious. Some protestors express their anger by robbing the shop and destroying their cities because society contract doesn't consider them. They want the government to make changes through the fighting.
The riots seeking justice and Covid-19 became the most serious problem in the US.

He was interviewing an innocent woman on the street about the current protests and activities in LA. The woman said she's scared and worried abut her child. I think I feel her. My mother's worrying about me everyday even though I live pretty far away from the violence. And I feel scared as well. I can hear the helicopter flying above the cities everyday but I still don't want to go out of my apartment.

During Covid-19, when I go out, I have to wear facial masks and gloves. I see many people wearing facial masks and keep 6 feet with other people. More and more people are infected in the US. I start to worry about the medical system and if medical stuff have enough medical recourses to fight the breakout. I am touched that they united on the front line.
In addition, when I go to the supermarket or want to get boba, I will check if they are open. Also, I will check if I can order it using any Apps, then I just need to pick it up following the instructions. Due to Covid-19, I have to consider more in my daily life.
I am staying at home at the most time. I am not as productive as usual. I have nothing to do but eat. I must gain weight after Covid-19 disappears.

I am a student. School shifts all courses to remote courses due to Covid-19. During the online course, homework is twice that as usual. I guess professors think we are staying at home all the time and have more time doing homework. I kept studying and coding during this quarantine.
Secondly, it is hard to access professors or TA. When I sent them emails, I didn't get a response in time every time. Some professors are strict and couldn't understand why students couldn't get help. TA thinks students can email the professor, and the professor thinks students can ask TA if they have questions. Finally, I didn't get any help and it does waste my time. I should take advantage of this time that was wasted doing other homework.
Finally, one of my ICS professors is kind of mean, but he is trying to be nice and fails very fast. He doesn't trust any students in his course because he thinks students get high grades due to cheating. Therefore, he would change the 100 points exam to 10 points. He pushes students to do more homework and gives them fewer points. This might be the worse thing during this special time.

My mom and I went out for a ride to just see the outside world. We drove to Laguna Beach, looking at all of the other cars that apparently had the same idea. The beaches were empty, lined with a plastic orange mesh fence and social distancing instructions “Stay 6 ft apart”. Sometimes it was eerie to see nobody else outside. The beach is a place my family likes to go to have fun, but like many of our other pastimes, we can’t do them anymore. We like to joke that eating is the only activity we can do during quarantine.

In the days following the death of George Floyd, the San Francisco Bay Area erupted with protests. San Jose and Oakland were two of the first cities in which large groups of protestors took to the streets. Peaceful protestors were met with police in riot gear and risked the threat of tear gas or arrest. Protests intensified as people moved to block local freeways, like Interstate 880 in Oakland. In the aftermath of the protests in San Jose and Oakland, protests spread across the entire Bay Area. Defying local COVID-19 shelter in place ordinances, nearly every city and town in the area held a protest during the week that followed.

I had an internship last year in New york. It's a crowded city. When I got off from work, I have to walk really fast, because if I walk slower than others, there even some bankers would push me to walk forward. They are not intended to do so, just because there are many people get off work during that time. And it's usually a noisy and energetic street. However, during the Covid19 period,it became a quiet street, almost nobody on the street. Also, people on the street would wear masks. I think it's a big change for this street and really shocked my mind.

Photographer, Richard Grant, captured a photo of a child sitting atop their father's shoulders during the Long Beach, California protests that followed George Floyd's death. It appears as if the cops in the photograph are pointing a rubber bullet gun directly at the father and child. The photographer recently posted the unedited photograph to Instagram and a caption stating that the photograph is not fake and that he does not believer the officer was intentionally or directly pointing the gun at the father and child. This statement by Richard Grant combats one of the reasons that perhaps the photograph went viral in the first place. Namely, that the officer was deliberately pointing the gun directly at the child. "First thing the photo is not fake. It is not Photoshopped. What I saw through the viewfinder is what is here. There was color correction and cropping so it could look better on Instagram when I posted it. I have stated before that I do not believe in the 1/500th of a second that the picture was made in that the officer was aiming at the man with the child. This is an uncropped photo with no color correction. I used a 24 -70mm lens at 70mm and f 3.5." Deliberate or not, the photograph reminds us to stop and think about the impact the events of 2020 are having on our children today and in the future.

When I arrived in China from the United States, I was sent to a hotel to quarantine for 14 days. This was the first lunch in my quarantine. There are 2 meats and 2 vegetables and 1 soup, which tasted very good. I thought it was a special treat in the first day, but the following 13 days was all in the same standard in terms of diet. The variety and quality of food even exceeded some restaurants. I also have fruits, milk, and bread every afternoon. The most important thing was, all the food, including fruit, milk, and bread, was totally free. And despite of the fact that I lived in a luxury hotel, I did not have to pay for it. The government paid for all the expenses during quarantine. The purpose was to alleviate people's financial burden so they would not have intention to reject a test or pretend to be normal when they are actually infected. However, with an excessive number of people entering China, people, many of whom were students studying abroad in foreign countries like US, had to pay the fees by themselves. This was not a big problem for them. After all, they could afford it. And compared with staying in the United States, which faced upon a great risk of explosive growth of confirmed cases, they would definitely choose to be in China no matter of what.

A few years ago, I thought globalization was a big trend and countries began to cooperate with each other in a friendly way. But now, everything seems to get changed. I would like to experience more of the beauty of different countries in the world and hope that the future can return to the era of globalization.
