This is just another example, on a smaller scale, of how the virus is affecting daily life. Schools cancelled, restaurants closed, small businesses around the country being shut down. Much of our infrastructure relies on these students being on campus and without it a lot of people are losing money and jobs.

Lack of cars is very noticeable on an otherwise busy street. Normally this time of day, the cars can be backed up from the traffic lights to well over the crest of the overpass. York street, which runs under the overpass, is the main truck route through the core downtown of the city of London, Ontario, Canada, and is very quiet.

This is an empty banana shelf at a Target in Pflugerville TX. People did not only hoard Toilet paper and handsanitizer, they also bought many fresh fruits and vegetables. Most of the bins in this produce section were empty as well. I don't know how people are going to keep all of the produce from spoiling before they eat it. Also in this Target, most of the refrigerators and freezers that held prepackaged meals or TV dinners were completely empty.

On Sunday 22 March I received the following message from the University's Vice Chancellor, "If you need to come to campus to collect anything essential to continue to teach online or work remotely you must do so before 5pm tomorrow, Monday 23 March." On Monday I posted this image to alert the community of researchers who use our facility that we would be closed until further notice. This poster designed again by Alex Stitt, a brilliant graphic designer, illustrator and social commentator, dates from 1997, and its message is relevant today. This week I have begun to work remotely and attended online training sessions Microsoft Teams 101, and Video Conferencing on Skype and Microsoft Teams.

On the week beginning Monday 16 March cultural organisations across Victoria began to make the difficult decision to close their doors to the public as a precautionary measure. In terms of the RDA, our programs for Melbourne Design Week, the Australian Heritage Festival, and Melbourne Rare Books Week were postponed until further notice. One of the themes of Melbourne Design Week was Communication Design and Health Promotion. The 'Life Be In It' poster designed by Alex Stitt seemed pertinent to the unfolding situation where potentially people might not be able to participate in physical activity outside of their homes. My gym closed last week!

My son's school closed on Monday. He is a high energy kid and copes better when he knows what the day holds. So I devised a schedule for us where he can continue to learn whilst school is closed.
We are finding that having a schedule is really helping with our daily life. It is meant to be flexible and serves more of a touchstone for when things get difficult throughout the day.
Many people are saying that time in isolation is a great opportunity to learn an instrument or language, master a hobby or really relax - but those of us with children don't have that luxury.

I work as a passenger service agent for a ground contractor on behalf of Air Canada at BWI airport. This is a picture of our last flight departing before Air Canada suspended all flights to BWI until May 1, 2020; time will tell if that date will actually be when flights resume. We usually have 4 flights a day, 3x daily to Toronto and 1x daily to Montreal year round, plus a second daily flight to Montreal in the summer, but they had to be suspended in large part because of the US government restricting all flights from Canada to arrive at one of 13 airports to control the spread of the virus between the two nations. BWI was not included in the list, so flights had to be suspended before the end of March. I suspect the flights were suspended before the 31st due to the collapse in passenger traffic caused by the virus most likely caused our flights to no longer be viable; our flights that usually flew out nearly full were suddenly flying almost empty. We found out two days prior, on Friday, that this flight would be our last and afterwards we’d all be laid off. My supervisor came in on Friday thinking it was a normal day only to find out it was her last day, and the rest of us would be unemployed within the next two days.

My husband wants a COVID-19 test. We live in Maricopa County, AZ. I called Banner Health because while my husband doesn't have extreme flu symptoms, everything we've read indicates that COVID-19 shows milder symptoms in young/healthy people. He works at a bank, and it's hard to do social distancing when you work at a bank. Today, he called me from work and asked for a COVID-19 test because his chest hurts. I called Banner Health, but was told to call back at 7:00 AM tomorrow because there are no more tests available today. What good is social distancing if we can't even track the disease?

This image shows how crazy the hysteria has become, people are hoarding items for this "apocalypse" leaving store shelves empty. When they are fully restocked again, it's only a matter or hours until they completely sell out. However, not many are thinking about those in serious need of those supplies. The elderly have a higher risk of dying and need certain supplies, and families are finding it hard to find meat and other foods to feed their families because of all the hoarding.

As the days pass time becomes abstract. The air has become heavy, its hard to breathe. The nights turn long and sleepless and the stars feel like they're burning out above me. The whole world feels like it's folding in. For some time I have been longing for cooler days but something stops me everytime, Covid-19. Being stuck in my house, which has become my prison, with nothing but my thoughts has driven me to the edge, the edge of sanity. This must end, it must.

This piece by Evan Bowie explains how their gym experience and proximity to COVID-19 cases had made them more self conscious of the virus in its early stages. Evan took social distancing seriously and implemented thorough cleaning measures while using exercise equipment, up until the point businesses were forced to shut down. Bowie's habitual activities were heavily altered and claims that this virus is a once in a lifetime experience that is going to affect everyone. [created by curator for added context].

8 tips to look after your respiratory health for trans and non binary people who bind their chest .I am a member of a secret online group for transgender men. I realised that it was written by a member of the Australian trans community, someone I have connections with in my own city. It felt good to know that resources developed by someone in my own backyard are having a global reach and that the transgender community around the world are pulling together to support one another at this time.

My partner shared an email with me from the Rabbi of a synagogue we're affiliated with, which addressed questions he'd received from congregants about how to deal with family purity laws under the current physical distancing restrictions. The email recommended reviewing the advice on this website, which provides guidelines for Jewish women performing ritual immersion at a mikveh (ritual bath) for the purposes of family purity, and for mikveh attendants, during the coronavirus outbreak. The advice was developed by Jewish women who are revered as experts in this aspect of religious law.
