Family During Lockdown
Most of my lockdown experience was spent making sure my grandmother was taken care of. My siblings and I did not want out grandmother going out to run errands, so we did them for her, making sure to disinfect all items given to her before hand. We also knew that she was getting bored being in the house, with not being able to go to church events. We often took out dog or our cat to see her. -

What Keeps Me Sane
Between working in a grocery store, and doing class work, I find myself busy and often stressed. I am lucky enough to have a partner, two cats and other luxuries that help me relax and relieve my anxieties. I included an older picture of myself and my partner, my switch, and my cats Wobbles (grey) and Jade (black). Having these distractions in my life have definitely made the pandemic a little more manageable. These things, along with my partner, help me count my blessings and appreciate what I have and have been able to hold on to during these anxious and stressful times. -

Adopting Nugget the Pug
This is my housemate’s dog, Nugget aka Nug. Despite my housemate wanting a dog before the pandemic began, she realised that between working and being a fulltime student that she wouldn’t have the time to train a puppy. However, due to the pandemic we have spent more time at home than we ever have before, meaning we could train Nug without worrying about leaving him alone while we were at university or work. Nug has brought joy to our household, providing lots of laughs and endless cuddles. He has also made being at home every day far more bearable. HIST30060 -

Forceful COVID-19
COVID-19 impacted my everyday life for the past 7 months. It has deprived me of socialization, a steady income, and the ability to feel “free”. It forced me back to New Jersey for a few months with my parents in order to save money. Adopting a cat was almost forced onto me, since its’ owner was unable to take care of her since COVID-19 had also effected the owner in negative ways. COVID-19 also made me realize what’s important to myself, who I choose to associate myself with, and how important being self motivated is. -

Pets Have Conference about Owners Being Home all Day
The New Yorker has been consistantly running their famous cartoons. The recent ones have dealt with the issues we are facing now with coronavirus: quarantine, business closures, home schooling, remote working, etc. This one shows the local pets having a meeting about the quarantine situation. The dogs are pleased, but the cats are not and they ask why their "department" wasn't consulted before the owners stayed home all day. -

Adding a family member during a somber time
After two recent deaths of our pets and the ability to be home 24/7, we decided to foster-to-adopt a kitten. His name is Kedzie, intentionally named after the Chicago street. My family is comprised of three busy adults with varying schedules, so now we are able to spend genuine time with him. Introducing Kedzie has also brought my family closer since kittens are a lot of work! -

Memes to Share
This pandemic has had me home for months; no job, no school, no family to see. I am stuck in my house without my best friend who lives states away from me. These memes are what we share together, ways to make each other laugh and conversation starters. These are even things that I am able to share with my brother and his wife, who is currently undergoing testing as she is starting to show some symptoms. They are ways to make us laugh. *These are a collection of memes. -
