My Thoughts on The Virus
I have read many statistics and learned much about this virus and I have come to a conclusion that it is dangerous and what doctors have been saying since the start is totally correct, I heard that it won't stop until almost everyone on earth has gotten it, and that is slowly becoming a reality, but i also heard that the mortality rate will remain at 1% no matter what which has also shown to be true. The one thing that bothers me though is that scientists said it could last up to 2 years, which is starting to sound realistic and not extremely exaggerated. My final thoughts in this virus are that we should all do our best to stay safe and listen to doctors. -

The symptoms
My dads friend had contracted Covid-19 some time around thanksgiving. At first he though he had bronchitis, but when he went to the doctor he was diagnosed with Covid. He had infected his entire family and they were quarantining, he felt tired and had a bad cough, but he got through it easy because he was in shape and young. It would be scary for my grandparents to contract it because I am almost positive they would pass away. -

Rules
The rules have changed since March 2020, we have to wear masks, social distance, and follow the CDC instructions, and these rules have changed the way the world is, but it's not unbearably bad. One thing that has changed is that you don't see people crowded in a small space anymore and places are a little quieter and empty. Another thing is that its harder to enjoy the things we used to do, like eating in certain restaurants, hanging out with friends, etc. These rules may have changed our lives and made them slightly less convenient but we will survive. -

Remote Learning
Remote learning was a blessing and a curse, when I first started doing online it was so easy and i could talk to my friends, eat during class, and overall have a better time. This was the best part about online, but the worst was that I never received proper instructions for things, so my grades weren't too good. -

The Start
When i first learned about the virus i thought of it as just a surprise virus that would pop up in another country far away and it would be gone in a week. As it started growing and reaching other places in the world, I learned more and more about the virus and learned it was very serious. When I was told it originated from a street market in Wuhan, I wasn't surprised because it is a very poor filthy area where they sell meat. My opinions on this virus have remained constant, it is deadly, where a mask and do what you can to prevent the spread. -

Covid Christmas
This Christmas was very different for me due to the pandemic, it started out normal, I was with my friends and family exchanging gifts and having a good time, but the next day, I had learned that people at my house were exposed to someone with Covid-19, this led to us quarantining and being scared that we caught it, but everyone was negative for the virus in the end thankfully. It doesn't stop there though, my trip to Mammoth Mountain got cancelled so instead I took my Can-Am out to the desert, the reason this is so strange is because it has been a yearly tradition of my family's to go to Mammoth for Christmas for over 10 years, and this was shocking to me. Now that it's the new year, things are already going downhill, I've had to postpone my birthday because there are no places to go, this is a summary of all the things different about my Christmas, I'm just thankful my families okay. -

The looming feeling of Disaster
Early into the year (January-March) this all began, and I was thrown into a world of change, excitement, and difficulty, but before all of this, I myself knew 2020 wasn't going to be a normal year. For me, it started out great, I was on a ski trip after new years and was just relaxed because I was out of school and having fun, but in these times I kept hearing of terrible things happening in the world, one of these being the coronavirus, I didn't pay any attention to it and expected it to be a problem only in China and other countries far from California, but as the year progressed, stuff started to get more severe, and by late February/early March, stuff started to get serious as it got into the USA, and March 13 is now a day I will forever remember as the last normal day in 2020, after that, online school started, which was easy to begin with and it was fun because I was still able to go to my local store and talk to my friends online, the last semester of 7th grade was easy and fun, and Summer came around and I was able to hang out with my friends a little bit, then 8th grade started, and it started out fun, but as we entered December, everything is starting to get worse and the cases are increasing because the virus likes colder weather, so much has gone wrong this month, my. yearly ski trip that I mentioned art the start is cancelled and so much is going wrong, lets hope 2021 is better, and we can get this stuff behind us all.
