Statistics
The statistics of Covid 19 are rather astonishing. Over 3.12 million people across the world have died of the virus. Roughly 10% of the world has had Covid 19 at one time. It is crazy to me that that many people have been affected by it. I don't know anyone that has been affected by it. I don't know how. Everyone I knows life changed through Covid whether it was being trapped at home for months on end, or maybe not being able to go to school, or losing a job. I have gone through some of these personally, but overall nothing bad has happened to me. -

Symptoms
Personally I don't know anyone that has gotten Covid 19 and I would prefer not to start now. I have heard however that the symptoms in everyone are different depending on your blood type, if you have asthma, diabetes, or any other immune disorder. The symptoms in a healthy person is just like an extended common cold. There is coughing, fatigue, light headedness, and fever. But, once it hits people who have asthma that could be a problem considering that Covid 19 attacks the lungs. It could damage their lungs even more which could potentially lead to death. Other than that the symptoms are pretty much the same. The thing that makes this particular virus dangerous is that no one shows symptoms for at least 2 weeks. So before you know its there, there is already a couple billion little virus cells in your body making you sick or worse. This disease mainly affects the elderly and is hard to control. it spreads quickly because it is an airborne disease. Some other symptoms are nausea and diarrhea. By now it is very well known about by now mostly because an insane 3.12 million people have died around the world because of it. -

Covid Rules
To be honest there are way too many rules that you have to follow. The most common of course is the wearing a mask every time you are in the same room with a different person. The only problem is that I fell like I might pass out if I wear it for too long. Another one is Only walking in one direction. Here is the problem, You walk around the building and accidently miss your class. Either you go back 20 steps and are forced to turn around by the TA or you complete a full circuit around the building and are tardy, your choice. The next rule I find incredibly annoying. every time you transition classes you are required to get hand sanitizer. The machine ends up giving way more than it should and you send the next 5 minutes trying not to run in to something while looking down and rubbing it on your hands. You also have to do that while trying to walk to your next class. And my personal favorite, just kidding, is social distancing. I you are in break and you are trying to play a game or just talk you must be 6 feet apart. I hate it because you practically have to yell for the person to hear you. -

Learning virtually
I woke up on a warm California spring day at 7:30 a.m. to my mother bantering on about something. I got up and walked to my dresser half asleep, ready to collapse. I put on a blue nylon t-shirt with some black shorts and walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth. Then I slowly walked downstairs pretty anxious and excited to start online. My Dad was already downstairs cooking my up some scrambled eggs and toast to start the new day. As usually my sister was complaining about something, I just tuned her out. My dog the lazy thing he is climbed onto the couch and my mom somehow found something to yell at me about. It might of been about getting on early, but I am not quit sure. any way after breakfast I walked into the living room to get on zoom. It was pretty boring trying to sit through math we were talking about pre-algebra, but I managed to get through it. My dad was super load laughing over the phone, I could hear him perfectly through 2 doors and in another room. My mom was on meetings all day and my sister was in the same boat as me. All the while my dog was sleeeping on the couch next to me without a care in the world. My next 2 periods flew by I don't know why because I had English as one of those. And my last period was rocketry which was fun in the fact that I got to build things, but it would of been a lot more fun in person. Overall the day went by pretty fast ending at approximately 2:45 p.m. After school was finished I slipped by with no homework for the day but I would much rather be in person. The rest of the day was fairly normal I turned on the Television to watch my favorite shows until my sister came down and started bossing me around that I need to get off the T.V and do something productive, shesh she is like a mini mom. Anyway I decided to go for a walk with the dog, and just my luck before I could slip out the door she saw me and made me wait 10 whole minutes to slip on a pair of shoes. When she finally got downstairs she snagged the leash from me and we were on our way. My sister is incapable of controlling a small 40 pound dog so you can only imagine how this walk went. I tried to take control of the leash, but she snatched it back and threw a fit, classic. My dog has a habit of peeing on 14 things in a trip so it delayed it even more. When we finally turned the corner to go up our hill it felt like we've been walking forever. We walked in the door took off the dog's collar and sat on the couch. mom walked in the room and asked us how it went, we said it was pretty good. And after that it was pretty much the end of the day we ate dinner sat in front of thee T.V. and then went to bed. -

the cause
The first thing that I heard was that the virus was caused by someone eating a bat in China. Which to me made perfect sense in the fact that it came through China and then everywhere. I think that it is crazy that you would even eat a bat because other then that this whole incident could of been avoided. My opinion has changed a little bit in the fact that so many people have died and are continuing to do so. When I look back on this virus so many things have changed and the origin of this virus was pretty weird. -

Covid over winter break
Over Winter Break my family and I drove in our Black SUV Ford Explorer Sedan 1200 miles or 18 hours to Cheyenne, Wyoming to visit my Grandparents. Along the way we stopped at the local Starbucks' to pick up a coffee for my coffee obsessed mother and we were on our way. When driving through Los Angeles, California you should always expect to be caught in traffic which was a minor setback, but we still made it through. The rest of California is very ugly being that its just Desert for 200 miles. During this time my sister spends her time spreading her nasty feet across the seat onto my body and refuses to move them for at least an hour. When I attempt to do this I am immediately yelled at and pushed off within 3 minutes. My dog which is completely lazy lays his little butt down between my sister and I and sleeps 3 quarters of the trip. My dad drives the whole time because my mom throughs a fit and refuses to drive even a single mile. And I sit down under my sister's legs under her super hot grey blanket in a cramped SUV in the desert and despite all that the car ride was pretty nice. When we finely arrived at our hotel in Grand Junction, Colorado we went out to Applebee's which I got to say is pretty good. I got the rib plate and a kiwi lemonade which I got to say is really good. At around 7:00 we arrived back at our hotel where we all collapsed and went to bed. At 5:00 we got back up, got dressed, brushed our teeth, and walked out of our hotel in to 20 degrees ferenheit. I made a mistake and decided to do it in sweat pants and a T-shirt. The rest of the drive was much shorter and a lot more scenic with the beautiful Colorado mountains and snow on the ground. we stopped at a local Maverick Gas Station to fill up and we all got out and used the facilities, even the dog. and the rest of the trip was nice. When we finally arrived we hugged our Grandparents and went inside. They have a enormous beefy Black Labrador named Hatti that for some reason liked to lick my dogs ears. Around 5:00 my aunt, uncle, and cousins came over and once again we hugged and visited for the rest of the night. over the next few days we went over to our cousins house to hang out and have a ping pong tournament, I lost badly. Over that time we went to my cousin's friend house to look through a telescope and witness something that only happens once every 400 years. Jupiter and Saturn join together in the sky and and create a bright light known as the Christmas Star. After that we went back to our Grandparents house to spend the night. the next day we went ice scating at the local arena and I swear I spent more time hitting and bruising my body parts on the ice then on my scates. The next day we spent most of the time playing pingpong with our cousin's. The next day we went to an escape room which we successfully completed and the next day it was Christmas Eve. That day was absolutely amazing. It started with launching a potato with a potato cannon across the ranch my grandparents own. After that we went to the shop and we did our own scavenger hunt which is our tradition. And then we went back to our Grandparents house to have our Christmas dinner with our great Grandma who is 92 and had our annual lemon cake. We went to bed and woke up and it was christmas. I got a lot of good stuff. like clothes a new football and a new build your own remote control rock crawler jeep. and then it was time to leave and go to our other Grandparents in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There we had a second Christmas Where I got New Airpods and a lego set. we hung around the house for mostof the days but we went to our other aunt and uncle's house and visited them for 2 days. And then it was time to leave to go back home the way we came marking the end of our trip. -

My introduction to Covid
My day began like any other, I got up at 6:30 on a beautiful morning. I got up and grabbed my glasses off my desk. Then I went to the bathroom and dropped off my retainer. After that I went downstairs and ate some scrambled eggs and prepared my backpack and made my water. We left the house, my mom and I, at 7:40 like usual and arrived at Oaks Christian Middle School at 7:50. I said goodbye to my mom and walked to the cafeteria. There were my friends waiting for me playing games on their phones. When it was time to go to class at 8:00 I ran to my locker number 7068, on the upper floor, I opened it up. Inside were my binders and books lined up just how I had left them on Friday. I grabbed my math binder and my pencil pouch and I was off to class. It was a normal class we were going over the lesson like usual. When I got out of class I quickly grabbed my things from my locker and ran straight for the Bible room, I made it. We talked about how Jesus loves us and wrote down words in our journals and were assigned a little homework just like math. Then I went to break. I went to the usual spot with my friends the Gaga pit which is my favorite thing to play at recess. I won a couple games as did my other friends. When the recess bell called us in I was off to English. As fast as I could I grabbed a mountain of books from my locker and dashed for the room. The lesson was the same we started out with a little grammar and then moved into a little vocabulary and then had a writing section. By that time I could tell that something was going on, but I thought nothing of it a moved on. I went to my next class, rocketry which I really enjoyed we were making some cool model rockets and testing them out. That helped me stop thinking about the awkward looks on people's faces. It was after that class that I noticed that hand sanitizer machines had been put up, and lots of people were using them. I moved on to history. We were talking about awesome and successful civilizations. After that I went to lunch and got a burger like usual. I went and played Gaga with my friends again and when the bell rang. I ran upstairs and got my stuff. Then I went to science where it all changed. In the beginning of class I overheard someone talking about something spreading and everyone seemed distracted throughout the period. At the end of class it got t me and I asked what was up. He said there is a disease going around and China and it is spreading to Italy, and the rest of the world. I smiled and thought no way I finished my last class which was Spanish and finished a little work in academic help but what that kid said was still in the back of my mind. The bell rang and I went down to the lunch room to see my friends and hangout. I went home wondering what had happened and went to bed. A few weeks later I went to math class and our teacher looked sad she told us that the school was moving to online and that we would have to do it from home. I was pumped I get to wake up later and watch T.V the second that I get out of school. That same day my Dad and I went out to find some supplies. Their was none. The shelves had been wiped clean of all wipes, paper towels, toilet paper, pasta, canned food, masks, eggs, rice, and milk, even all the meat was gone. People went insane. At the time my family still wasn't wearing masks even though everyone in the store had them on. We went to home depot to get some supplies to finish a project on the house and all of the gloves and masks and hand sanitizer was gone. So we went home. We weren't affected too much because right before we heard about this we had filled up on toilet paper and paper towels which was a stroke of luck. And as the days go on I haven't been bothered by this and am still happy to be out of school but hopeful that we can go back soon.
