Zoom Movie Night
I selected this picture because it shows how my family and I have been connecting with each other during quarantine. In the image, my cousin, sister and I are watching Cobra Kai together on Zoom. This connects to the pandemic because it shows how we are not able to hang out with each other in person. Instead, we have to watch movies online. This image represents my current experience as a junior in high school as well because all of my school is online. I use the Zoom app nearly everyday, to talk to friends, to hang out with family, and even to attend my classes. While we all wish we could be hanging out in person, we cannot so we have to make do over Zoom. This also represents the period of unrest in this country because of how chaotic our faces look in this screenshot. The U.S. is pretty much crazy right now. I think we are probably all going to die. -

As the COVID-19 crisis cuts jobs, Canadians cash in on hobbies with "side hustles"
As many Canadians leaned into their hobbies as sources of entertainment, some discovered they wanted to make businesses out of these interests. However, other Canadians needed another source of income to supplement their main jobs as COVID-19 added a degree of economic instability during the pandemic. This article serves to illustrate how Canadians formed side businesses out of these hobbies, either due to economic uncertainty, or because they desired to do what they genuinely loved. -

Bike Trail Pandemic Safety
This is a picture of a sign to “Please Wear A Mask” by one of the entrances of to my hometown’s bike path. Originally a local place by the local lake to take family and have a nice picnic, go on a brisk walk, or have a fun ride on your bike, the trail is a place where most locals congregate. Due to COVID-19, this local spot has grown a lot of attraction because when people have nothing else to do, they take up nature as their past time. However, this sign was placed to remind people that the pandemic is still real and all around us, and that people should still stay safe while partaking in a fun past time. Having these warnings out in public spaces help people keep a sense of mindfulness of others as they continue on their own endeavors of their day to day lives as we all try to live though a pandemic that has shaken the core of how people do live. -

Covid Schooling
The main part of my life and any 20 year old college student's life is their school work. Every major has taken a serious impact on the way their courses are taught, the way they are absorbing information and especially the way they are collaborating with their peers. I am studying Interior Design and personally my hands on collaborative classes are now all taught virtually. Typically I would spend hours with my classmates talking about projects and brainstorming new ideas together. Now I have turned to opening my creative conversations with my roommates, who are not in design majors, but it gives me a different point of view. I believe I am benefiting from this type of learning, but of course I am constantly missing out on what this typical semester should look like. My four roommates and I are sitting at our desks for 8 hours a day logging in and out of virtual meetings trying to create a new sense of normal. Typically we all would be gone throughout the whole day and hardly see one another, but now we are all constantly together in our individual rooms trying to continue our education. -

Zoom calls with strangers a face with no makeup, these are a few of my favorite things
A Tik Tok video covering so many changes that have happened with the pandemic, an original sound by Nina Nesbitt. The video makes fun of zoom calls, not wearing makeup, and ordering food and other items online. It definitely captures how challenging it is to stay home, the struggle of interacting with other people, and the tendency to give into vices as a coping strategy. -

Beauty of Boston
Arriving as a freshman at Northeastern University, I found myself allured to the urban beauty of Boston. In these times it can be observed that the inhabitants of Boston are fewer, mostly at home, wear masks, and have totally changed their way of life. However, despite the pandemic, Boston's urban scape and landscape remain unhindered in its growth, development, and display. The backdrop beauty of the city is appreciated in these difficult times and keep its inhabitants - including myself - resilient and to press on. -

新型コロナワクチン開発 米モデルナ「94.5%効果」(2020年11月17日) - Development of new corona vaccine US Moderna "94.5% effect" (November 17, 2020)
