Title (Dublin Core)
Kathy Brooks Oral History, 2021/02/16
Mini oral history report with Kathy Brooks
Description (Dublin Core)
Kathy Brooks is a 60 year old woman who resides in Tempe, Arizona with her husband, son, and dachshund. This pandemic has hit all of us hard but it has hit some of us harder than others. Kathy has been retired for years now and usually would spend her days at home painting or gardening even before the pandemic. It seems now with the pandemic though she now feels the need to go out and do things that were possible before but are no longer possible. She loves shopping so this pandemic has helped her by stopping her from shopping as much as before, although online shopping is still an option for her. In this short oral history interview Kathy goes into detail on this subject.

Kathy I want to ask you a question about your pandemic experience, but before I do I would like to ask for your consent to record this response for the COVID-19 archive. The COVID-19 archive is a digital archive at ASU that is collecting pandemic experiences. Do I have your consent to record your response and add it to the archive with your name?
KB: Yes you may record my response.
JC: thank you. First, can you tell me your name, age, race and where you live.
KB: My name is Kathy Brooks I am 60 years old I am white/non hispanic and I live in Tempe, Arizona.
JC: Thank you, now I’d like to ask you a quick question about the pandemic.
We’ve experienced a lot of changes in 2020 and many have been negative and disruptive. But
perhaps it’s not all bad. What’s one positive thing you’ve experienced during the pandemic?
KB: One positive thing I have experienced during the pandemic is I have more money. I am retired and like to do a lot of shopping but with the pandemic I have not been able to go to clothing stores and spend my money.
