About Immigration Stories and Northwest Immigrant Rights Project
The Immigration Stories page of The Journal of the Plague Year was created, in conjunction with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project; to highlight the stories of immigrants and their families during the pandemic.  NWIRP began collecting stories with the intention of including immigrant voices in the historical record of this critical period in history and partnered with JOTPY to keep the records as part of a larger digital archive, available to researchers for years to come.
The Northwest Immigrant Rights Project defends and advances the rights of immigrants through direct legal representation, community education, and systemic advocacy in order to create a more just and equitable world for all people.

The safety and well-being of our storytellers is of utmost importance to us and to our collecting efforts. No personal information will be shared outside of the community, and those who share their stories with the archive will remain anonymous.
