abstract (Bibliographic Ontology)

Although Speaker 2 is not religious, they provide insight on how religious groups in their town have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. They talk about how these groups have shifted their gatherings online and what community service activities they have engaged in to help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaker 1 0:00
First question: how has COVID-19 affected your faith or beliefs?

Speaker 2 0:05
For me it hasn’t it really because I have, I'm not religious but for people in my town it has.

Speaker 1 0:13
Okay, and how has it affected the people in your town?

Speaker 2 0:17
They can’t go to their church services or any gatherings or anything like that, so everything they're doing is now at home and they can't go to they, like, volunteer work for their church and stuff.

Speaker 1 0:29
Alright, so that being said then, is your religious community still gathering currently, or how has COVID-19 affected your participation in your religious community or, for that matter, just your towns?

Speaker 2 0:39
They're doing live Facebook streams of the church services and stuff every Sunday for all of the churches.

Speaker 1 0:49
Okay, okay, cool, cool. And then lastly: is your religious community supplying or engaged in any kind of community service and attempt to help alleviate issues caused by the pandemic? If so, what are those efforts? If you know them?

Speaker 2 1:02
Um, I don't know of any, I know some people are like fundraising like money for it, but I don't know that's just from their church or just because they want to.

Speaker 1 1:11
Right, right. Cool. Well, that's all I got. Thank you.
