Text (Omeka Classic)
While the recorded deaths from COVID-19 inches ever closer to 100,000, my neighbors had a quaint Sunday Brunch with others from the neighborhood, family, and friends. At the beginning of the pandemic, they were following the guidelines for social distancing, but suddenly, one day, they decided they were bored with it. For the last several weeks, they have had get-togethers that not only disregarded social distancing and mask-wearing, but that spilled into the yards of neighbors still following guidelines. While those of us who are following CDC recommendations watch from our front windows, the neighborhood children, of parents who are not, ride bikes through our lawns. I'm not sure what to make of this new neighborly treatment, but I don't like it.
