Title (Dublin Core)
Pizza and The Old Stone Church
Description (Dublin Core)
Lockdown restrictions to indoor dining at restaurants, which prevents friends from gathering and socializing in familiar locations.
The jubilant aroma of freshly baked pizza filled the air, as it has for the past couple years. Whether while driving past the establishment or walking nearby and shopping the smell was always inviting. This particular pizza restaurant, Scileppi's at the Old Stone Church, in Castle Rock, Colorado has been a regular gathering place for my family and friends for the purposes of simply conversation, sports chat, or attempting to solve the world's problems. Not only is the pizza phenomenal, but the ambiance of the Old Stone Church intrigues all of us in our close-held group. However, since the COVID-19 lockdowns, we are no longer able to dine within the confines of our favorite pizza joint. Sure, we can still appreciate the fragrance of freshly baked pizza, prepared for takeout customers. However, Scileppi's isn't operating under normal conditions, so those familiar smells are less frequent and whenever we pass the Old Stone Church, there is a bit of heartache and longing for our past gatherings, which have been on hold for the past 11 months.
While we haven't lost touch with our good friends and still manage to get together for walks and engage in conversation, we anxiously look forward to the days when we are able to absorb the aroma of freshly baked pizza at Scileppi's while sitting at our favorite window-side table, inside the Old Stone Church...attempting to solve worldly challenges.
