COVID-19 and Vaccination: A Timeline

Soon after the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, the world began to look for a cure. Scientists poured their efforts into creating a viable vaccine. 

In December of 2020, the FDA approved a vaccine and rollout began. Rollout was not smooth in most places, but mass vaccination contributed to increasingly high percentages of vaccination in the U.S.

There have been a variety of challenges to the vaccination process associated with COVID-19,  from
skepticism and conspiracy theories to uneven rollout to the emergence of breakthrough cases.
