Text (Omeka Classic)

With the profoundest regret, I must write to tell you that the current search for candidates to fill the advertised intern positions in our textual research room has been halted. The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, which funds the stipends for our paid interns, has determined that current and projected business conditions require that all their programs, including the internships, must be drastically curtailed.

Please believe that the necessity for doing this came as a shock and a surprise to all of us. The Foundation, however, has determined that the internship program must be cut for the rest of 2020, nor can we say at this time if and when the program will be returned to historic levels.

I am deeply sorry to be conveying this news, especially with such lack of warning, and I wish you the very best for your academic work and career goals. If you have any questions, or if there is anything that I can do for you, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Stephen Plotkin
Textual Collections Archivist
